For the first three years of my college career, I was a music major. I chose this major initially because I am a pianist and have always enjoyed playing and learning about music. However, after three years of playing the piano for hours a day, I discovered that I was more interested in writing and talking about music than just playing it. This discovery led me to become a philosophy major. I loved my philosophy classes because I had several wonderful professors who challenged me to think about music in a larger, philosophical context. I am so glad that I did change my major to philosophy because it is such a broad field with many different opportunities.
